چکیده
Background: Although the incidence of paediatric femoral shaft fractures is about 1.6%, it’s treatment controversial, especially in children age 6-12 years. Materials and Methods: This prospective observational study was performed at Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital, Barishal, Bangladesh from January 2020 to December 2020, on 7 (n=7). There were limited number patients included due this accomplished perphery city Bangladesh. Both male female with simple transverse short oblique included. Results: Among cases, 6 closed fracture 1 Gustilo Anderson type open fracture. The mean 8.57 years, ranging 5-13 female, a ratio 6:1. In 4 cases right side affected 3, left affected. 5 treated by reduction rest 2 reduction. average union 9.7 (6-15) weeks. Results evaluated using Flynn et al scoring criteria, excellent, good poor outcome during 5-11 months follow up period. Conclusion: Titanium elastic nailing has considerably decreased period immobilization, ensured early return normal life provides psychological advantages. It better mid diaphyseal fractures.

Treatment of Paediatric Femoral Shaft Fracture with Titanium Elastic Nails
The operative fixation of pediatric femoral fractures is increasing being done nowadays. Children of age less than six years can be best treated by traction followed by cast method but the conventional traction and casting method for management of pediatric femoral fractures is giving way for the operative stabilization of the fracture in children more than six years. Twenty patients in age gro...

Background: There is a general consensus on the management of femoral fractures in children younger than two years and adolescents older than sixteen years. The best treatment for patients younger than sixteen years of age is still debatable. Titanium Elastic Nails (TEN), is widely used with some evidence, nonetheless, we undertook a systematic meta-analysis to assess the efficacy of TEN comp...

Background Femoral-shaft fractures are among the most common fractures of the lower extremity in children. There are several different options for treating femoral-shaft fractures in children. Elastic stable intramedullary nailing (ESIN) has become the standard treatment for fractures of shaft of femur in children for reasons including mini-invasive surgery, no need for casting, early mobilizat...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effectiveness of intramedullary fixation using the Kirschner-wire (K-wire) compared to the titanium elastic nail (TEN) in pediatric femoral shaft fractures. METHODS A sample of 42 pediatric patients with a mean age of 6.55±2.42 years (range 4-11 years) presenting femoral shaft fractures underwent intramedullary fixation using the K-wire or TEN. RESULTS There was no...
